Level 8, 9 and 10 State Championships | March 28-29, 2009

Action’s Level 8, 9 and 10 teams traveled to Edison, NJ this weekend to compete at the 2009 State Championships. Under the tutelage of Coach Kris King, six of Action’s team members qualified to Regional Championships, three earned spots on the New Jersey State Teams!

Roxanne Redwood, Devyn Summers and Holly Gaither represented our Level 8 team. Competing in the Sr A age division, Roxanne’s explosive vault earned her 2nd place (9.3) on the event. She placed ninth on uneven bars (8.85) and eleventh in the all around (35.375). Devyn competed in the Jr C division. Her graceful balance beam routine earned 10th place on the event (8.85). She accumulated an all around score of 34.35. With her polished lines and impressive choreography, Holly earned 2nd place honors on both uneven bars (9.0) and floor (9.125). Her 35.175 all around score placed her at 6th in the Sr C age division. Both Roxanne and Holly qualified for Regionals. They will travel to Unique Gymnastics in Waldorf , Maryland the weekend of May 2, 2009. Holly will compete as a member of the New Jersey team.

Kaitlyn Reszkowski, Louquasha Lett and Alana Morgan competed as our Level 9 team. Kaitlyn placed 5th All Around in the Sr A division (35.975). Her near-flawless floor routine (9.55) and well-executed vault (9.175) earned her 2nd place on both events. With the assistance of the Arena Gymnastics coaches, Valdi and Ann Kolasa and the support of Arena’s Level 9 team, Louquasha and Alana scored 7th and 8th places respectively in the Jr B All-Around. Louquasha’s powerful beam routine earned her 4th place honors on the event (8.85 as well as 5th on vault (9.075). Alana’s energetic floor routine (9.175) helped her place top 10 on all events, including All Around (35.325). All three Level 9 gymnasts will travel to Parkettes Gymnastics in Pennsylvania the weekend of April 18, 2009 to compete at Regionals. Kaitlyn will be a member of the New Jersey team.

Meghan Cole and Courtney Boyle competed as our Level 10 gymnasts. Courtney’s explosive vault and elegant floor routine (8.6) earned 9th place on both events; she received top 10 honors on all events including 8th place All-Around in the Jr A age division. Meghan’s astonishing 9.3 vault (7th place), 9.075 beam (3rd place) and 9.25 floor routine (4th place) earned her 36.375 All-Around (5th place) in the Jr B age division. She secured a solid spot on the New Jersey team for Level 10 Regional Championships. Meghan will be competing at World Class Gymnastics in Newport News , VA the weekend of April 25, 2009.
